Aurkitu

Picture a region of breathtaking beauty and peacefulness, not unlike the majestic beauty of Rioja Alavesa, where the old bush vine vineyards gently nudge themselves up into the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria. Add in a speckled, patchwork of spartan vineyards and dusty roads, where the only traffic jams are those created by sheep crossing the road. Welcome to  the Navarra region and specifically

The Story of a Label

Aurkitu means to "find" or to "discover" in the Basque language and when we came upon the remote, beautiful vineyards of the Baja Montaña, we certainly felt like we had stumbled upon one of the great treasures of Spain.

Inspired by the vineyards, the scenery, the dusty roads with only sheep for traffic, we drew from the Spanish Cubist movement for label design cues.

This eye-catching label depicts a scene of unearthing vinous treasures set against the the little village of Leaché, where we source some of our fruit from.
