Viticulture

Te Quiero white is sourced from a couple of different vineyards within La Mancha, both of which are 100% organic. The high elevation of 750m plus ensures big differences between day and night temperatures which give the vines a chance to rest and ensure that the fruit is bright and vivid.

A mixture of younger, trellised vineyards and older bush vines are predominantly dry farmed but younger vineyards use irrigation to help establishment. Though not mentioned on the label, the varietal mix is eclectic with Airén, Verdejo, Moscatel, Albillo and Malvasia all making an appearance.

Winemaking

Fruit is both hand and machine harvested before transport to the winery where it is de-stemmed, pressed and fermented at cool temperatures to capture all the beautiful, tangy citrus fruits. Certain parcels undergo a more oxidative ferment to provide more complexity and increase the blending options. Post primary fermentation, the wine spends time on its lees to build texture and weight.

Tasting

A wonderfully tasty and vibrant white with a whole host of tangy, pithy fruit which belies its modest price. As well as being aromatic and enticing, it has weight and an elegant intensity which keeps you coming back for more.
